A full day event to discuss progress on animal welfare assessment, building on the WQ approach.
For this meeting, contributions are invited from scientists who have worked on the development of welfare assessment, and end-users who apply it for inspection or certification purposes.
‘Science meets practice’ will be the leading theme, and a diversity of delegates are envisaged. For this, there will be a team up with the two EU Reference Centres for Animal Welfare (EURCAW-Pigs, and EURCAW-Small farm animals) who use the WQ ‘legacy’ on a daily basis to support the improvement of animal welfare in Europe.
As in previous years, the Welfare Quality Network will have its General Assembly in the morning of the following day (14 October).
